Jamie is a bit of an old soul, having been involved in a few vocations and passion projects throughout the years. He found his passion for helping orphans after traveling the world in his late teens and twenties and visiting orphanages in countries like China, Mexico, Romania, Russia, Kenya and Tanzania. He graduated with a bachelors in Youth Psychology, and earned a masters in Counseling/Psychology. He pursued both of these degrees because of his love for people, and desire to help marginalized and forgotten youth. His education, coupled with his own life experiences, have helped solidify his commitment to offering assistance to the young people of the world who need and desire a chance to live happy, healthy and productive lives.
Jamie is the owner and a full-time employee of a small boutique fine jewelry store in Seattle, WA, called Baraka Gems. His company was birthed out of a desire to someday fund what has now become A Ring of Hope. As the founder of A Ring of Hope, Jamie spends his volunteer time dreaming about how to expand the welcoming arms of our organization and the best ways for us to make the biggest positive impact on impressionable young minds and hearts.
When he’s not hard at work with either organization, Jamie likes to spend his downtime in the woods or on the water. As a curious traveler, he enjoys experiencing different cultures and foods. He is often dreaming of new experiences, whether they be across the globe or across the street. On really quiet days, he can often be found on a park bench reading books about raising and training his future Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
